The International College of Paramedicine (ICP) is a non-profit organization created to improve the quality of prehospital and out-of-hospital patient care through the development of model standards of practice, professional competence, and education for paramedicine.
ICP works with clinical and technical experts and thought leaders in paramedicine from across the globe to identify the professional competencies for paramedicine practitioners and the education standards that are needed to ensure that competencies can be met.
ICP advocates for and promotes the adoption of paramedicine standards by applicable governmental entities and other stakeholders, and the use of written and skills evaluation to validate the professional competence of paramedicine professionals.
ICP is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of global leaders with expertise in prehospital and out-of-hospital standards of practice and education, assessment validation, curriculum development, and knowledge of EMS systems and education in other countries.
The ICP Board is assisted in its work by the ICP Advisory Board.The members of the Advisory Board are appointed to provide advice and guidance to the Trustees and assist the Trustees in implementing ICP activities.
